A blend of sugar, spices and annatto
Tocino mix makes the breakfast tocino and longanisa a surprisingly scrumptious feast
Free of preservative salitre (saltpeter), nitrite and artificial food colors
Tocino Recipe (Makes 4-5 Servings):
1 pouch (75 g) Mama Sita’s Tocino Mix 75g and 500g pork meat (cut into 1/4 inch thick slices)
1. Place meat in a bowl & sprinkle with Mama Sita’s (Tocino) Mix. Mix well. Marinate for at least one hour.
2. In a wok, cook meat in a marinade and enough amount of water to cover the meat. Bring to a boil.
3. Lower heat, cover & simmer until water dries up & meat starts to sizzle. Increase the heat & cook until meat has a shiny reddish-brown color. Serve hot with stir fried garlic rice or steamed rice and fried eggs!
